Isaiah 52 was written for a people in exile who felt forgotten. The announcement “Your God reigns!” told them that their captivity was not the end. Paul quotes this verse in Romans 10:15 when he writes about messengers being sent.
Justin Perkins arrived in Urmia, in what is now Iran, as the first American missionary in that area. His work among the local Assyrian Christians led to schools and a printing press.
